How to Check the Status of Your Backup

There are two ways to determine the status of your backup:

• View status through the Carbonite Preference pane
• View status with the Carbonite Lock icon 

View status through the Carbonite Preference pane

Click the Apple symbol in the menu bar and select System Preferences to open the System Preferences window.

Within the System Preferences window click on the Carbonite icon.

You will see the Carbonite Preference pane displayed.

This is how the Carbonite Preference pane appears when opened.

In the Carbonite Preference pane, you see how much your backup contains, how much is awaiting backup, and your backup status.

View status with the Carbonite Lock icon

The Carbonite Lock icon is located in your menu bar in the top right of your screen. 

Click the Carbonite Lock icon and you can view the status of your backup in the Carbonite Status field.
